Your Role:
As an Outbound Telesales Team Lead – Cards, you will be responsible for the oversight of the Outbound Telesales Specialists in acquiring new business through outbound calling to both supplied and self-initiated sources. You will provide professional, solution-based sales guidance to support the growth of the United Card portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and support a team of outbound sales specialists to ensure performance meets and exceeds expectations.
- Sales Drive: Guide the team in making outbound calls to designated geographical areas/industries, and capitalize on new-site openings.
- Target Management: Ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds daily and monthly sales targets, KPIs, and outbound call objectives.
- Escalation Handling: Handle complex customer interactions, resolve escalations, and provide guidance on difficult calls.
- CRM & Pipeline Oversight: Ensure all sales prospects are accurately logged and managed in the CRM database at the point of contact.
- Performance & QA: Conduct quality assurance tasks, including call monitoring and scoring, and confidently handle performance management conversations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Telesales Manager, Credit Manager, and Customer Service Manager to optimize sales outcomes.
- Active Contribution: Maintain a flexible, hands-on approach, including making outbound sales calls yourself to supplement the specialists' efforts when required.
What You Need:
Non-negotiables:
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring team members, including the ability to manage performance conversations.
- Sales Background: Previous experience in inside sales, outbound telesales, or customer acquisition roles, with a demonstrated track record of achieving team-based targets.
- Quality Assurance: Direct experience with QA processes, including call monitoring and/or scoring.
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional phone manner, active listening skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to details.
- Core Skills: Strong interpersonal, planning, organizational, and time management skills with a resilient, "can-do" attitude.
Preferred skills / expertise:
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office Suite, including intermediate Excel skills.
- CRM Knowledge: Previous experience or familiarity with ZOHO CRM is highly beneficial.
