Your Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Data Administrator & Power BI Reports Developer to build, maintain, and continually improve business-critical reporting and platforms. You will administer core data platforms, run data process batch jobs and ensure datasets for reporting and downstream systems are maintained and accurate. You will assist in end-to-end data reports lifecycle—requirements, data preparation, modelling, visualisation, deployment, and support—ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adoption. The role blends strong data administration fundamentals with hands-on Power BI development and operational support aligned to priority monthly processes.

Platform administration & reliability
- Administer and maintain SQL Server estates, including access, job scheduling, backup/restore, performance monitoring, and capacity planning and coordination of database restore actions when required.
- Monitor and maintain batch jobs, automation, respond to alerts and failures to keep daily diagnostics green.

Power BI development & administration
- Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards, datasets and paginated reports.
- Implement refresh schedules, gateway configurations and performance tuning aligned to cut-offs and distribution timelines.
- Develop Power Query/DAX with clear definitions and documentation. Implement reconciliation checks before/after process runs.

Data preparation & collaboration
- Partner with Data Admin/Engineering to ensure source structures and performance meet reporting SLAs. Verify BI database state post backup/restore.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into maintainable semantic models and intuitive visuals. Fold recurring ad-hoc asks into standard reporting.

Critical process support
- Provide hands-on support ensuring critical monthly process are completed in their entirety. Run and verify backups/restores into BI environments, trigger/monitor automation jobs, investigate failures (SQL/SSRS/web services) and execute escalations as needed.
- Ensure processes complete in full on the 10th & 12th of the month coordinating with other teams and external vendors as required. Weekend work is needed if these days fall on a weekend.
- Support other related month-end tasks to ensure reporting processes complete.

Quality, lineage & governance
- Implement data quality checks, lineage documentation, and change control.
- Maintain secure handling of customer and company data across file systems and BI platforms.

Change and incident management
- Execute changes via SDLC/Agile practices (work item tracking, testing, deployment, hypercare).
- Raise ticket requests (e.g., disk space, job issues), drive root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
- Respond to ticket requests and incidents across databases and data platforms and helping to maintain operational efficiency of data systems.

Stakeholder collaboration & communications
- Provide clear, timely updates during critical windows via MS Teams and email.
- Notify stakeholders at start/finish of key steps and upon exception, per the documented communications steps.


What You Need:
- Proven experience as a Power BI / Reports Developer with strong SQL, Power Query, DAX knowledge.
- Visual design experience in Power BI and creation of reports with end-to end knowledge from data sources to visualization.
- Administering SQL Server (backup/restore, performance, security), SSIS, and exposure to SSRS; operating automation and orchestrations applications; responding to storage/alert conditions.
- Diagnosing and resolving issues with SSRS and application services and automation tasks during invoice processes; coordinating with IT teams and external vendors.
- Practical familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing, MS Teams communications and secure handling of files across enterprise network shares.
- Experience meeting strict cut‑cutoffs for enterprise reporting and financial operations.
- Exposure to enterprise reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI datasets/gateways) and performance optimisation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications advantageous.
- Demonstrated track record delivering accurate, maintainable Power BI solutions in a fast‑paced environment with strong stakeholder engagement.
