Your Role:
As an Inventory Accountant, you will:
- Maintain accurate inventory records, track stock levels under the FIFO method, and identify obsolete inventory through aging reports.
- Coordinate periodic physical counts, stock takes, and regular cycle counts while reconciling physical counts to subledger and general ledger balances.
- Process inventory transactions, enter work orders, and raise purchase orders to support the seamless flow of goods across warehouses.
- Prepare detailed month-end inventory listings, tie subledgers to the general ledger, and book Gross Profit in Inventory (GPI) monthly.
- Collaborate with shipping, receiving, and warehouse teams to implement inventory control best practices and continuous process improvements.
What You Need:
Non-negotiables
- 3+ years of directly related experience in inventory accounting, warehousing, or logistics.
- Proven experience with inventory management software and executing Oracle material transactions.
- Strong computer literacy and advanced Excel proficiency coupled with high data entry accuracy.
- Solid understanding of inventory control methods, including FIFO valuation, ABC analysis, and stock level calculations.
- Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
Preferred skills/expertise
- Background working within a Shared Services Accounting and Finance environment.
- Practical exposure to Lean manufacturing and Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory principles.
- Experience utilizing QlikView or similar reporting tools for inventory transaction analysis.
- Demonstrated capability to identify and drive continuous process improvements.
- Willingness and ability to travel to off-site locations for inventory verification when required.
